Mint and ginger lemonade

Mint and ginger lemonade

Hello again. I am back with the lemonade recipe that I promised.

In summer I like to do my own drinks out of natural ingredients. And this lemonade is one of my favourites. Because besides being delicious, it is very quick and easy to make.

What do we need?

– A large pitcher, I use one that is about 2,5 l (about 2,5 quarts)

– 4 lemons

– 2 limes

– 220 g / 8 oz brown sugar (200 g / 7 oz white sugar)

– 50 g ginger (1,7 oz) (if you do not like the spiciness of ginger put just half)

– 3 or 4 mint branches

Take the sugar and about 250 ml of water and put them on the stove, bring the water to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let it cool down a bit, or mix it with some cold water and ice cubes.

Now take the ginger and grate it very finely (add it badly in photoshop in case you forgot to take an extra picture of it) and put it in the pitcher.

Squeeze the lemons and limes, you will need about 250 ml (1 cup) of lemon/lime juice. If you like more lime, feel free to change the ratio of lime to lemon, the main thing is that you need one cup of juice at the end.

Take the mint and crush it a bit with the back of the knife or with a rolling pin and add it to the pitcher.

Put the lemon/lime juice in, put the sugar water in and top it off with cold water.

Set it in the fridge and let it cool down, or just add some ice-cubes.

And enjoy!
